The US Embassy in Moscow has warned Americans to “avoid large public gatherings” around Russian celebrations in honor of their victory in World War II amid Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

“In the past, there was an increased police presence around these events. Given the continuing tensions, US citizens must avoid large public gatherings. “Smaller events are expected for Victory Day across Russia,” he added. “The embassy may not always be aware of the exact time and place of these events in advance.

However, this speculation on Victory Day was rejected by the Kremlin.
