West Hills, Los Angeles (KABC) – A second arrest has been made in connection with the deaths of three young children who were found in a home in the West Hills, police said Monday. The children’s mother also remains in custody on suspicion of murder.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the second detainee is a minor. It is not clear what this person has to do with the children.
Police on Sunday responded to block 22,500 on Victory Boulevard after receiving a signal of a deadly gun attack, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The three children were identified as a 12-year-old girl and two younger brothers aged 8 and 9.
The children’s mother, identified as 38-year-old Angela Flores, has been detained on $ 6 million bail and faces three counts of murder.
Police did not say how the children were killed or in what condition they were found, but the investigation continues.
Neighbors say the family moved into the home only about three months ago, but often heard arguments and screams, including the night before the children were found.
“I kept hearing ‘my family is abusing me’ and (I) kept hearing screams, but I couldn’t understand what she was saying,” said neighbor Priscilla Canales.
No more details were immediately available.
