Apple may finally have plans to release the long-awaited successor to the high-end AirPods Pro this fall.
According to Bloomberg’s often trusted Mark Gourmet, the 2nd generation AirPods Pro will offer improved sound quality and new health features. The autumn timeline supports a report by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, which states that the new wireless headphones may have a refreshed charging case, lossless audio support and a design that removes the handle.
Apple’s AirPods Pro was first released in 2019, so the wireless headphones are out of date for a refresh at this time.
Along with the updated AirPods Pro, Gourmet says Apple plans to release new colors for the AirPods Max, rather than an entirely new model of in-ear headphones. However, it is not clear what colors Apple may release.
AirPods Max is currently only available in ‘Space Gray’, ‘Silver’, ‘Green’, ‘Pink’ and ‘Sky Blue’, so there are plenty of options for more colors. Maybe Apple can take the excellent color “Sage Gray” or “Stone Purple” from Beats Fit Pro.
We hope that the upgrade of AirPods Max is still in progress, which solves some of the most significant problems of expensive headphones, including the dirty case.
