Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Sunday denied the claim of the widow of one of the victims of last week’s deadly terrorist attack in Greece, who said she had refused to allow him to offer his condolences to the film crew.
Limor Hawakuk, Jonathan Hawakuk’s wife, said earlier Sunday that the prime minister had contacted her the day before to visit her.
“I turn to Bennett – dear Bennett, listen to me well. He wanted you to meet me yesterday. I told you I didn’t want to see you with cameras. You want to see me? “Face to face and without cameras – this is the only way to come and see me,” she told Jewish media.
A subsequent statement from Bennett’s office said that “unfortunately, some stakeholders have apparently misled the families of the bereaved.”
“Things that were published earlier today, as if the prime minister had asked for a visit and he was denied or asked to come in the presence of cameras – never happened. There was no such call from either the prime minister or his cabinet. We love, respect and embrace grieving families who have lost their most precious things. “

The prime minister and members of his coalition have come under intense criticism amid the ongoing wave of terrorism in Israel, with members of grieving families repeatedly chastising him as he delivered speeches during Israel’s Remembrance Day ceremonies last week.
In an interview earlier Sunday, Havakuk attacked Bennett, urging him to withdraw from a coalition with the Islamist party Raam, whose members she called “murderers”.

“I beg the people of Israel to make noise and shake the earth. Enough blood, enough orphans and widows. I will have to raise five orphans alone, “she said.
“Stop sitting with these killers. A 6-year-old should not say Kaddish. Bennett, resign, you can fix this, you can repent. If you don’t fix this, my husband’s blood is on your hands. If you continue to sit at the same table with the killers, there will be no forgiveness or remorse for you. They will not defeat us, they are murderers. “
The three men killed in the attack – Hawakuk, Boaz Gol and Oren Ben Yiftah – left 16 children behind.
Three others were seriously injured in the knife and ax attack on Thursday night, at the end of Independence Day, in the city of Greece, mostly Haredi, in the center of the country.
The two Palestinian suspects were arrested on Sunday, about 60 hours after the attack.
The attack in Greece has been followed by a wave of terrorist attacks in Israel and the West Bank in recent weeks and repeated threats by Palestinian terrorist groups over the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
With it, the number of people killed in the terrorist attacks in Israel and the West Bank on March 22 this year became 19.
