Erling Haaland is nearing the end of his move to Manchester City.
According to Sky Germany, the striker has informed Borussia Dortmund that he will leave the club at the end of the season. The exemption clause in his contract is 75 million euros.
Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano informed Dortmund boss Hans-Joachim Vacke last week that City were ready to activate the striker’s release clause.
The clause stipulates that the Haaland transfer fee will have to be paid in one payment, unlike many other top transfers, which take place in several installments.
Some details of the deal, which is expected to be announced later this week, have yet to be finalized.

Erling Haaland storms the Bundesliga, becoming the mascot of Borussia Dortmund since his debut in 2020.
Haaland has scored 85 goals in 88 games for Dortmund since joining RB Salzburg in January 2020. Dortmund’s last game of the season is on Saturday at Hertha Berlin.
Pep Guardiola’s team is leading the race to sign the 21-year-old and his release clause means that Borussia Dortmund is coming to terms with the loss of the striker this summer. The € 75 million fee – equivalent to £ 62 million – for Haaland is thought to be below market value.
Asked about the club’s interest in the Norwegian last month, Guardiola said: “[I have] there is no answer to your question.
“Right now I don’t have any worries or work in my head to think about what will happen at this club next season.”
City often play without a recognized striker this season after leaving club record holder Sergio Aguero at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
