Intel’s upcoming 12th generation Alder Lake-HX processor range for enthusiast workstations and gaming laptops has leaked to Videocardz. The lineup includes various SKUs that target the fastest laptops for content creators and gamers.
Intel’s 12th Generation Alder Lake-HX Processor Line Expired: Designed for Workstations and Laptops for High-End Games with Up to 16 Cores, 5 GHz Clocks and PCIe 5.0
The Alder Lake-HX series is Intel, which introduces the 12th generation desktop matrices in the laptop segment in BGA form factor. For this purpose alone, Intel will use the Alder Lake ‘C0’ matrix, which includes a total of 8 P-cores and 8 E-cores. These chips will be available in the same package size as the desktop parts, which are 45 x 37.5 mm but are thinner to reduce the height from 4.4 mm to 2.0 mm.

Since they are based on the same silicon as desktop parts, a similar number of cores, cache sizes, and clock speeds should be expected. One of the main features is that Intel’s Alder Lake-HX processors will be the first PCIe Gen 5.0 platform for laptops, including a total of 48 PCIe tapes. These include 16 PCIe Gen 5, 20 PCIe Gen 4 and 12 PCIe Gen 3. As might be expected, they would allow better I / O capabilities than the existing Alder Lake-H range, which offers only 28 PCIe bands that include 16 Gen 4 and 12 Gen 3.

As for the other important feature of the Intel Alder Lake-HX line, we are considering full overclocking support for both CPU and DDR5 memory. This will be possible through an updated ETU (Extreme Tuning Utility), while XMP 3.0 profiles will be available on a wide range of HX mobility platforms.
Finally, let’s talk about SKU, there are a total of 7, starting with 8 cores and ending with 16 cores. There is no SKU that does not include E-cores activated on the matrix. What is really interesting is that certain top-level SKUs in each segment are compatible with ECC and vPRO, while Level 2 SKUs offer full memory and unlimited kernel overclocking, while others have limited OC of the core.
Now coming to the SKU, the Intel Core i9 segment will include i9-12950HX and i9-12900HX with 16 cores and 24 threads (8 + 8) design, offering boost clocks up to 5.0 GHz, 30 MB cache and TDP values in the range between 55W (PL1) and 157W (PL2).
The Core i7 segment is the most crowded with three SKUs, which include the i7-12850HX, i7-12800HX and i7-12650HX. The best i7 SKUs come with 16 cores, but have 25 MB of cache and up to 4.8 GHz clocks, while the 12650Hx is equipped with 14 cores and 20 threads (6 + 8) for a total of 24 MB of cache. up to 4.7 GHz.

Finally, we have the entry-level Intel Alder Lake-HX Core i5 segment, which includes a 12-core i5-12600HX (4 + 8) and an 8-core i5-12450HX (4 + 4). These processors have 18 MB and 12 MB cache, and clocks are rated up to 4.6 / 4.4 GHz, respectively. The only department that lacks these chips against the Alder Lake-H line is the 32-16 EU iGPU, which is similar to desktop parts. We can expect these chips to land on several laptops in the coming months, leading to Computex 2022, and the official announcement is expected at Inte’s Vision event next week.
