Friends are devastated to hear of the tragic death of a 22-year-old mother who is believed to have taken her own life. Jordi-May Richardson’s death on Monday came just weeks after she passed her driving test and expected to be promoted.
Her best friend El Kio, 23, said: “I got a phone call from her ex-partner to tell me she took her own life and I was heartbroken. Absolutely lost, scared – everything felt empty.
“She has always had mental health problems, but she was also a really happy person and she was so sociable, she always wanted to go out and see people and she loved her drum and bass music. She was one of those people who could enter a room and made everyone smile immediately.

“She worked for Cadent, the gas company, and just had an interview for a promotion, which she was really excited about. She was smart and she really deserved it and wanted it.
“She had also passed her driving test two or three weeks earlier. She wanted to drive around the UK and see all the caves, beaches and waterfalls. She was loved by so many people.”
Jordi-May had a four-year-old son, Logan, who was staying with his mother in Peterborough the day he died at his home in Barwell, near Hinckley. Elle, who lives in Beaumont Lakes, Leicester, said she hopes to raise money for both Jordi-May’s funeral and Logan’s.
Thousands have already been collected on the GoFundMe page created for Jordi-Mai by Elle. Elle said: “Nothing is set in stone yet, but we want the funeral to be open to her whole family and many friends.
“I want to give her the best sending we can and hope we have enough to help secure Logan. So many people sent messages and donations.
By 16:00 yesterday (Sunday), the GoFundMe website had raised £ 2,280, donated by more than 120 people. One person commenting on the page said: “She was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Her smile was so radiant.
“I know how much she adored Logan. She may have been a young mother, but she did a great job raising her son. I really look at her. Spread your wings and fly high. Sleep well, beautifully.
Another said, “You really lit up a room. Rest easy – you deserve it.”
