Russian ambassador flooded with red paint on Victory Day in Warsaw News

Russia’s ambassador to Poland was painted red and called a fascist as he tried to take part in a Victory Day event in Warsaw.

Activists opposing the invasion of Ukraine opposed Sergei Andreev when he arrived at a cemetery to pay tribute to Soviet soldiers killed in battles with Nazi Germany during World War II.

The crowd waved Ukrainian flags and chanted “fascist” and “murderer” to him and his entourage before throwing bags of red paint at them. The footage shows Andreev striking a direct blow to the face, which wet his hair and suit. He wiped the paint from his eye as he tried to ignore the protesters.

Members of the Russian delegation were prevented from entering and laying wreaths in front of the Soviet army
