Trump News Today: Esper Says He Stopped Former President Doing “Terrible Things”

Republican governor urges remaining Republicans to “move forward” from Trump

A new report claims that former President Donald Trump is “completely amazed” by the various sinister stories that revolve around Madison Kothorn, the young far-right congressman who has recently been embarrassed by obscene images and videos of his lewd antics. Mr Kothorn was also twice caught carrying a gun at an airport and had numerous encounters with police while driving.

Meanwhile, former Secretary of Defense Mark Esper is heading for his soon-to-be-released book about his experiences with Donald Trump. Among the allegations he made was that during the Black Lives Matter protests in the summer of 2020, Mr. Trump wanted to deploy 10,000 troops on the streets of Washington and order them to open fire on protesters.

Mr Trump responded to the story by insisting instead that a similar deployment be made on January 6, 2021, in order to maintain order before Joe Biden’s election victory is confirmed. He claims without evidence that he was refused.

Mr Esper, who was fired in November 2020 following a dispute with the former president, made some startling revelations in his new book, The Sacred Oath, due out tomorrow.

Trump claims to have personally led the US military because of the “light” Secretary of Defense

Former President Donald Trump has said he should have “led the army” during his term, as his defense minister, Mark Esper, was a “lightweight”.

Hitting Mr Esper, the former president wrote in a written reply to CBS: “Mark Esper was weak and completely ineffective and therefore I had to lead the army.

“Mark Esper was stiff, desperate not to lose his job. He would do anything I asked, so I called him “Yesper.” He was light and figure skater and I realized that very early on, “he added.

“The truth is not good for Donald”: Michael Cohen testified in a lawsuit against Trump

Longtime mediator Donald Trump and former personal lawyer Michael Cohen told reporters Monday that he was removed for several hours as part of a lawsuit filed by protesters who claim that Trump Organization security guards attacked them outside the Trump Tower.

According to Mr. Cohen, Donald Trump’s bodyguards attacked the protesters after they were ordered by the then candidate Trump to “get rid” of them. The former president denied this.

“They asked me a series of questions and I answered them honestly and truthfully,” Cohen said Monday, adding: “The truth is not good for Donald.”

Manchin has not said whether he will support the Democrats’ bill to codify abortion rights

Joe Manchin, the centrist senator from the Democratic Party, whose opposition to the president’s “Build Back Better” agenda torpedoed the law last year, may be on the verge of breaking up with his party again.

Asked by CNN on Monday if he would join the Democrats to vote to move their bill codifying abortion rights into federal law, he said, “I’ll wait until tomorrow,” which apparently means he hasn’t made up his mind.

The West Virginia senator opposed a similar bill in February and has also long opposed the use of federal money to support abortion services.

Mike Pence attacks Kamala Harris over abortion rights

Former Vice President Mike Pence has attacked her successor, Kamala Harris, after she criticized an apparent impending Supreme Court ruling that would violate 40 years of protected abortion rights in the United States.

Ms Harris spoke at an event hosted by the Emily List group, which backed the election, when she asked last week: “Those Republican leaders who are trying to use guns to use the law against women, we say laugh ? How dare they tell a woman what she can and can’t do with her own body?

Mr Pence responded to Friday’s anti-abortion group event by saying: “I say that the lives of 62 million unborn boys and girls have ended in abortions since 1973, generations of mothers have suffered heartbreaking losses that could lasted a lifetime: Madam Vice President, how dare you? “

Arizona Supreme Court rejects efforts to block Republican lawmakers from voting

The Arizona Supreme Court has ruled that activists who want to block three Republican lawmakers from voting in November for supporting efforts to cancel the 2020 election will fail.

The move puts an end to efforts to block members of the US House of Representatives, Andy Biggs and Paul Gossar, as well as US Representative Mark Finchem, from running for re-election in 2022; the three are loyal supporters of Donald Trump and have loudly supported his false claims that the 2020 election was allegedly stolen by Joe Biden.

Similar efforts have been made in many states, including North Carolina and Georgia, targeting other allies of the former president, such as Madison Kotorne and Marjorie Taylor Green, in response to the Jan. 6 violence.

ICYMI: Has Conservative Justice or their staff expired Roe’s project?

National Public Radio correspondent Nina Tottenberg, a veteran of US Supreme Court coverage, theorized on Sunday that a conservative judge or employee working for them may have expired the draft opinion revoking Rowe v. Wade to prove pressure on one of the other members of the court.

In an interview with ABC this week, she explained that many experts are considering the possibility that the project has expired to avoid one of the conservative judges supporting a more diligent extension of abortion restrictions by the Court, led by Chief Justice John Roberts.

“The leading theory is a conservative official who fears that one of the conservatives may be persuaded by Chief Justice Roberts to join a much more moderate opinion,” she said.
