A Duke University student said she took “full responsibility” for parts of her inaugural speech that included passages similar to those in Harvard University’s graduation speech years ago, sparking a university investigation.
Student spokeswoman Priya Parkash spoke with her classmates at Duke’s graduation ceremony on Sunday. The next day, the Duke Chronicle, the university’s student newspaper, reported that several passages from Ms. Parkash’s speech were similar to those from a 2014 Harvard speech by then-student Sarah Abushaar.
