The assailant of sexual assault from Crawford Plains has been described as a middle-aged man

Police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a woman in broad daylight in southeastern Edmonton.

The victim told investigators on Sunday (May 8th) that she was invited by a man standing in a tree line north of Crawford Plains School. When she approached him, he attacked her.

Police say she managed to escape and escaped to the playground, where others helped her.

Police released a description of the man on Wednesday:

  • about 55 years;
  • South Asian;
  • he spoke Punjabi fluently;
  • between 168 and 173 centimeters (5’6 “and 5’8”) tall;
  • about 68 pounds (150 pounds) heavy; and
  • he was wearing a white Molson beer shirt, dark pants and a dark baseball cap.

In addition, police said, the man had “a certain jaw, a large nose, small eyes, thick eyebrows, gray stubble, a deep, hoarse voice and missing many front upper and lower teeth.”

Residents of Crawford Plains were asked to review their security and video footage of that day and time for all people matching the description, and anyone with information was asked to contact police.

The principal of Crawford Plains School on Monday told families that Edmonton police were investigating an incident at a children’s playground over the weekend.

“A child in our community may have seen policing in our area and may ask you questions about it. As your principal, I value open and honest communication with our school community, so I wanted to let you know what’s going on. “We are cooperating with the police while they continue to investigate,” Lisa Nachtigal wrote.

She confirmed that no students were involved in the incident.
