Two people were arrested after a man received serious injuries to his face and ankle after an attack. Police were called to Barnstaple last night (May 10th) after reports of an attack in the Woodland Close area of Whiddon Valley.
A 43-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, both from Thorington, who were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, remain in police custody. Devon and Cornwall police officers are now urging witnesses to come out.
A spokesman for police said in a statement on their website: “Officers received reports of an attack in the Woodland Close area of Whiddon Valley, Barnstaple, between 10pm and midnight on Tuesday, May 10th.

A man in his 40s suffered serious facial injuries and ankle injuries, all of which required hospital treatment. A 43-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, both from Thorington, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remain in police custody.
