Two were injured in exchange for a shooting on the Ottawa Highway

Ottawa police are seeking public help after a man and woman were injured in a shooting Thursday afternoon between two cars traveling on Queensway.

Police said the incident happened around 1:20 p.m. on Highway 417 west between the Metcalfe Street and Parkdale Avenue exits.

Investigators confirmed that a shooting was exchanged between two moving vehicles, both traveling west in the fast lane of the highway, police said in a statement.

One of the vehicles involved is a white Mercedes. Police described the incident as “targeted shooting.”

Yesterday afternoon, the police were informed that two people had appeared in hospital with gunshot wounds.

A man and a woman, both 25 years old, were admitted with life-threatening injuries.

The two victims did not cooperate with the police and were later released.

Investigators are looking for witnesses or camera footage of the incident.
