Europa League LIVE final: Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Rangers updates – match ahead

The Rangers’ incredible success until the Europa League final

Follow live scores and updates from the Europa League final in Seville as Rangers face Eintracht Frankfurt at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium. Supporters from both teams flocked to southern Spain and more than 150,000 fans arrived in the city before the match tonight, in perhaps the most unexpected European final of the decade.

It’s just a case not to be missed, and both Rangers and Eintracht have a chance to make history after making their dreams come true. The Rangers are aiming to win their first European trophy in 50 years and will believe they have nothing to fear after knocking out the German opposition at Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig to reach this stage. Giovanni van Bronckhorst took over Ibrox only in November, but is building on the foundations laid by Steven Gerrard to take the club from Glasgow to unexpected heights.

Eintracht Frankfurt may end up in the bottom half of the Bundesliga this season, but they also surpassed their weight by knocking out Barcelona and West Ham to reach their first European final in 42 years and cannot be taken lightly. Weather conditions may play a role in the final, which is expected to take place at baking temperatures after a day of scorching heat in Seville. Can the Rangers handle it? Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Rangers

90 + 3 minutes: Bore won a foul from Bass to stop the Rangers’ momentum in these final stages of the match.

Looks like we can get extra time. I’m afraid to think how tired these players will be in another 30 minutes.

90 + 1 minutes: Great change of Kamara and Aribo, but Kamara’s shot is blocked. takes off for Barisic, whose cross is blocked and the Rangers have a throw.

The Scots feel a late goal.

Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Rangers

89 minutes: SO CLOSE! Tavernier fails to clear the cross from the right with his head. Kostic sends him back to Kamada and it is just beyond him and away from the ladder!

Frankfurt almost found a winner there.

Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Rangers

88 minutes: Every time one of the teams gets the ball in the last third, it looks like it could create something dangerous. It’s really on the edge of the knife.

Barisic blocked Knauf’s cross and the Rangers tried to break through, but Aribo did not control. Now both groups of players look very tired.

Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Rangers

86 minutes: Kamara slips a clear pass into Sakala and he tries to pull the ball for Aribo, but Hasebe catches it in Trap’s grip.

Rangers still look threatening on the counterattack. This finale is so finely balanced.

1652906947

Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Rangers

84 minutes: An encouraging long ball over the top from Frankfurt sees Hauge and Bassi fight for the ball and the Rangers defender does a great job of bringing it out for a goal kick. Bassi was a sensation for the Scottish toilet tonight.

Frankfurt is pushing for a winner, but for now the Rangers are keeping them at arm’s length.

Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Rangers

82 mins: Kostic shoots a free kick exactly in the middle of the Rangers. He bounces to the penalty spot and McGregor has to overturn him as he threatens to cross him!

You have the feeling that one of these countries will score in the 90th minute. They both seem capable of doing so.

Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Rangers

80 minutes: Stupid game! Hasebe lets the ball go back to Trapp, but it doesn’t get there and for a moment Sakala seems to be the favorite to get there! Hasebe manages to transfer his body and then Sakala unnecessarily pushes the defender when Frankfurt still had big problems.

One mistake. One chance. A piece of genius and the trophy goes home to one of these countries.

Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Rangers

78 minutes: Good chance for Frankfurt. Kostic finds Rode on the edge of the penalty area and gives it to Hauge, who leans back and directs his efforts to bend over the crossbar.

Rode narrowly avoided several Rangers challenges in the penalty area there. If he had been cut off, he would have been nailed to a penalty.
