One mother was bitten 25 times by one of her dogs after trying to stop him from attacking her other dog.
Stephanie Jones, 32, had to destroy six-month-old Chase after she was hospitalized by his brutal attack. Chase was a dog of American hooligans and lived with Stephanie with her three young children, her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Lola, and her other American hooligan, Cookie.
Fatal attacks on dogs have increased in recent months in the UK, with some calling for the breed – which is not recognized by the Kennel Club – to be banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act. However, Stephanie said that riding all hooligans with the same brush is wrong and that it depends on the individual dogs and how they were raised before they were bought, Mirror writes.

She says she should have noticed the red flags when she bought Chase. She initially posted on Snapchat asking if anyone had a Champagne-colored Bully she could buy, and she contacted a breeder.
But when she arrived to pick up the 10-week-old puppy in April 2021, she was denied entry to his home so she could not see the dog’s standard of living or meet with the puppy’s parents. However, Stephanie, who lives near Swansea in Wales, persisted in buying the puppy for £ 3,000.
She said: “He literally came out to my car, took the puppy out of the car window and promised to send all the documents by mail, and I never received anything. I learned my lesson. ”
Stephanie was later told by people who knew the breeder that he was unlicensed and had “crates on crates in the house of only locked dogs used for breeding.” After taking Chase home, Stephanie noticed a large scar on his ear, and the breeder said it must have been done by the dog’s mother.
But later that night, the puppy began to have a seizure-like seizure, and she took him to an emergency vet. “I videotaped this seizure-like thing he had, sent it to the breeder, and he asked if I wanted to replace the puppy with another puppy?” Stephanie explained. “Obviously, I told him no.”

She initially had to pay £ 4,000 for Chase through a payment plan, but the breeder lowered the price to £ 3,000 due to health problems raised by Stephanie with him. But when Stephanie tried to ask questions about the outstanding documents and the proof of his breeding license, he threatened her. She said: “He sent me threatening voice calls and voicemails saying that if I ever went to someone for him, he knew where I lived.
She also spreads rumors about the breeder, including that he breeds dogs from the same litters. Her suspicions turned out to be true when Chase attacked Lola, keeping the two dogs at bay ever since.
Then, in August, he went to Cookie, the other bully in the family, in front of her children, who are four, five and seven years old. This is where Stephanie is attacked by Chase, intervening to grab his collar – taking her to the hospital and as a result she catches cellulite in the hospital.
She said: “He drove me crazy, bit me 25 times on the arms. He took me to the hospital and I had both hands reddened, and then I got cellulite in the hospital. “

But Stephanie’s top priority was to protect her children, with Cookie also stepping between Chase and the three children. Although she was seriously hurt by Chase, she believes it was due to improper breeding, not the breed as a whole.
She said: “I honestly think that when you have these dogs that are not properly bred, it all comes down to breeding and the way people raise them. My thing is that I raised both dogs in the same way, and if the whole breed was dangerous, I probably would have turned the other way around, but she didn’t. “
Because of this belief, she kept a cookie after the attack, which shocked some of her family and friends, even though she put Chase to sleep. Stephanie insists: “You can’t erase them all with the same brush.
“She is literally my best friend. If I thought anything negative about this dog, I wouldn’t make her go around my children.

“If anyone has to be against the Bullies, it’s me after what he did to me. Not everyone is the same, 100 percent. ”
Compared to Chase, the cookie came from a “beautiful house” where Stephanie was invited in and the documents were given here and there. The dog also had a microchip and had all his vaccines.
Referring to when she bought Chase, she said: “It’s just funny when I look back. I was very stupid.
“I had to think more. I thought he was a wonderful puppy and I took him home.
Hooligans were originally bred in the United States, but in recent years their popularity has grown across the Atlantic. Pit bull terriers and “pit bull types” are banned in the UK under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
