SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket passes through the sun in an exciting picture during the launch of Starlink; see here

SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 rocket with a new fleet of 53 Starlink satellites on May 18. The two-stage rocket took off from 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center at 4:29 p.m. (IST), after a 39-minute delay. After launch, SpaceX successfully completed an accelerated landing approximately nine minutes later on the Atlantic Shortfall of Gravitas drone. According to SpaceX, this is the 159th total launch and the 121st booster landing so far.

The company, led by Elon Musk, shared videos from the take-off of the Falcon 9 and its exciting landing, filmed by cameras mounted on board the accelerator. In particular, this was the third launch of Starlink on SpaceX in just five days, after it recently launched two consecutive launches in a record 24 hours. Watch the launch and landing video below.

Each SpaceX launch is not just for the company, but for photographers and space enthusiasts who are looking forward to taking off off the coast of Florida. This recent launch gave some stunning photos of the Falcon 9, courtesy of photographers as it took off from the launch pad. Photographer Trevor Mulman, who took photos of the rocket launches, shared one such photo of the SpaceX rocket as it passed through the sun earlier today.

SpaceX rockets are often a source of exciting photos for ordinary people sharing moments in the glowing sky due to the Falcon 9 accelerators. More recently, a strange space jellyfish was spotted by many off the coast of Florida after the Falcon 9 was launched. See photos here.

Meanwhile, the company is breaking new records with each launch and is making great strides with its commitment to one launch each week this year. Earlier, CEO Elon Musk said the company is targeting 60 launches this year. This on May 18 was the 21st launch of SpaceX in 2022 and 14 of them were dedicated to Starlink.
