Boston police arrested Lawrence on Wednesday who was wanted for alleged rape in downtown Boston last Saturday.
Edwin Fantauzzi, 33, was arrested in Roxbury on an unfulfilled order from the Boston Municipal Court for rape, assault with intent to rape and assault and beating, a police statement said.
Police say detectives from the Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit have received arrest warrants for Fantauzzi in connection with a rape in the Harrison Avenue area, reported at 6:30 p.m. May 14
Authorities did not specify the age or gender of the victim.
Police said they found Fantauzzi on Wednesday in the Roxbury St. 39, after a 911 caller said he was recognized by photos shared by police on social media and local news outlets.
Fantauci was detained at 1:36 p.m. after a “brief fight,” police said. At the time of his arrest, police said Fantautsi was believed to have “ingested a small amount of an unknown, white, powdery substance”.

He was taken to a local hospital for examination and had to be discharged after his release, the statement said.
Fantauzzi was previously arrested in November 2018 in New Jersey on charges of assault with intent to rape a child in Boston.
He pleaded guilty in March 2019 to charges of enticing a child under the age of 16 and indecently assaulting and beating a child under the age of 14, court documents show.
He received a sentence of two years and six months in this case, with a credit for 107 days spent in custody while the case is pending, according to court documents.
Fantauci is listed as a Level 3 sex offender by the State Register of Sex Criminals, who says he also has a previous conviction from 2015 in his file for indecent assault and violence against a person aged 14 or over.
