12 killed in the Ukrainian city of Severodonetsk, said the governor of Lugansk
The governor of Ukraine’s eastern Luhansk region said 12 people had been killed in Severodonetsk as a result of Russian attacks, with more than 60 houses destroyed.
Sergei Haidai, head of the Luhansk regional military administration, told Telegram that at least five high-rise buildings had been demolished in Severodonetsk.

After Russian forces secure Mariupol in Ukraine, the UK Ministry of Defense says the Kremlin is likely to move its operations force quickly to the Donbass region.
The United Kingdom says about 1,700 Ukrainian troops may have surrendered from the Mariupol Azovstal steel plant, according to a daily intelligence update.
“Ukraine’s persistent resistance in Mariupol since the start of the war means that Russian forces in the region must be re-equipped and renewed before they can be redeployed effectively. This can be a long process when carried out in depth,” the ministry said.
“However, Russian commanders are under pressure to achieve apparently operational goals. This means that Russia is likely to redeploy its forces quickly without adequate training, which risks further depletion of forces,” he added.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russian forces of committing genocide against the Ukrainian people, describing the current situation in the Donbass region as “hell.”
Speaking during his evening address, Zelensky said Ukrainian forces continue to liberate the northeastern Kharkiv region. “But in Donbass, the occupiers are trying to increase the pressure. There is hell and this is not an exaggeration.”
“Donbass is completely destroyed – all this does not exist and there can be no military explanation for Russia,” Zelensky said.
“This is a deliberate and criminal attempt to kill as many Ukrainians as possible. Destroy as many houses, social facilities and businesses as possible. This is what will qualify as genocide of the Ukrainian people and for which the occupiers will certainly be brought. before justice, “he added.

Failure to open Ukrainian ports would be to declare war on global food security in this “unprecedented crisis,” warned World Food Program Executive Director David Beasley.
“Food prices are our number one problem right now, as a result of all this perfect storm for 2022,” Beasley said. “But by 2023, this will be a problem with food availability.”
Ukraine is a major exporter of agriculture, feeding about 400 million people worldwide, according to the WFP.
The WFP analysis found that 276 million people worldwide suffered from severe famine in early 2022. If the war continues, that number could rise by 47 million.
Because ports in Ukraine have been blocked as a result of the war, millions of metric tons of grain cannot be shipped, the WFP said.
Ukrainian farmers will have nowhere to store their next harvest in July or August if the ports are not reopened, which means grain will be wasted as the world grapples with the global food crisis, the WFP said.
Food prices soared after Russia invaded Ukraine in late February. Food prices are at the highest levels ever recorded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, up 34% from last year.

The Pentagon has announced the approval of the tenth package of US security aid of up to $ 100 million for Ukraine.
“The capabilities in this package are tailored to meet Ukraine’s critical needs for today’s battle as Russian forces continue their offensive in eastern Ukraine,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said during a daily press briefing.
