Authorities say the burglary suspect, who led lawmakers on a chase from River Park in Fresno and barricaded himself in a Save Mart grocery store near Nees Avenue and First Street, has escaped.

Fresno Police Chief Paco Balderama said SWAT Fresno officers entered the store with their K9s to search the building and nearby businesses, but did not find him on Friday afternoon.
Although police did not find him, Balderama said traces of him were found in the store.
Authorities say the unidentified suspect is wanted in connection with a burglary by Caruthers.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputy, who is out of work, spotted him and two others in front of Macy’s.
The MP called for reinforcements. When the suspects saw the deputies approaching, two of them ran back to Macy’s store. The two suspects have since been arrested.
Balderama said Save Mart could reopen in a few hours.
