Marvel has released the second trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, as well as a new poster for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe starring Chris Hemsworth. It includes a great look at Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher. The film is set to hit theaters on July 8.

Thor: Love and Thunder sees the return of MCU alumni Chris Hemsworth as God of Thunder, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who now takes on the mantle of Mighty Thor and will own the iconic Mjolnir. Oscar winner Christian Bale will also return to the superhero genre as he signs for Gore’s vicious role as a butcher god.
“The fourth part reveals Thor on a journey different from anything he has encountered – the search for inner peace. But his retirement was interrupted by a galactic assassin known as Gore, the butcher god who seeks the extinction of the gods, the synopsis said. “To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg, and his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who, to Thor’s surprise, inexplicably controls his magic hammer, Mölnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark on a torturous space adventure to unravel the mystery of the revenge of the butcher God and stop him before it’s too late.

The cast includes franchise alumni such as Jaime Alexander as Sif, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Taika Whitey as Corg and Guardians of the Galaxy stars as Peter Quill by Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan’s Nebula, Kraglin by Sean Gunn and Kraglin by Sean Gunn.
Thor: Love and Thunder is again directed by Waititi (Jojo Rabbit) based on a screenplay he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Someone Great), which will be a sequel to Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok.
