Johnny Depp returned on Wednesday in the civil trial in his case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Depp testified that he saw what his lawyer, Adam Waldman, said about Hurd when he saw the counterclaim filed by his ex-wife.
Depp is suing Hurd for $ 50 million in defamation in Fairfax County Court for a December 2018 post she wrote in The Washington Post describing herself as a “public figure representing domestic violence.” His lawyers say he was slandered by the article, although his name is never mentioned. Hurd is suing Depp for $ 100 million for Waldman’s statements about her to the media.
Depp also responded to defense witnesses who testified that his finger was injured, a controversial point in his and Hurd’s accounts of their relationship. He confirmed his previous testimony that he was injured when Hurd claimed to have thrown a bottle of vodka at him.
And Depp responded to testimony early Wednesday from supermodel Kate Moss, with whom he dated in the 1990s. Both he and Moss said she slipped on rain-soaked stairs in Jamaica. Hurd testified that she thought about rumors of the Moss incident during a battle in which she admitted to hit Depp on some stairs.
The civil trial between Depp and Hurd resumed on Wednesday in the sixth and expected last week of the trial.
Earlier Wednesday, his team called Moss, who testified that Depp did not push her down the stairs in an incident that Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard mentioned in her testimony.
“He never pushed me, kicked me, threw me down stairs,” said Moss, who appeared via video link.

Hurd mentions Moss as he describes a battle in which he confessed to hiting Depp on a staircase because he said Depp was attacking Hurd’s sister, Whitney. Moss said she once went downstairs after a rainstorm at a Jamaican resort and that Depp came to her aid.
The supermodel testified in less than 5 minutes and was not cross-examined.
Earlier, Hurd testified that during a battle in 2015, she recalled an alleged incident in which Depp pushed Moss down a flight of stairs. This opened the door for Depp’s lawyers to summon Moss to trial.
Depp denies hitting Hurd and says she was the bully in the relationship. Hurd has testified to more than a dozen individual cases of physical violence she says she suffered at the hands of Depp.
On Wednesday, Depp described Hurd’s stories of sexual violence in their relationship as “crazy.”
“I have never in my life committed sexual violence, physical violence – all these outrageous, strange stories about having committed these acts,” he said.
“I’ve come this far, told the truth, and talked about what I’ve been carrying on my back – reluctantly – for six years,” Depp said.
Hurd’s lawyers terminated their defense on Tuesday. Judge Penny Azkarate rejected a request from Depp’s lawyers to dismiss a $ 100 million counterclaim she filed against Depp. The counterclaim alleges that Depp’s then lawyer, Adam Waldman, slandered Hurd when he called her allegations of abuse fraud.
Also Tuesday, DC Films president Walter Hamara testified that Amber Heard lacked chemistry with Aquaman star Jason Momoa, and the studio was considering replacing her in the sequel to the blockbuster. Depp’s lawyers also called the actor’s doctor, Dr. David A. Culber, at the meeting, who asked if the expert, Dr. David Spiegel, could accurately assess Depp without talking to him at all.
Although it was reported that Hurd’s lawyers would call Depp as a witness on Monday, they did not. Depp’s lawyers plan to recall the star on the spot before Friday’s closing arguments.
Both Depp and Hurd have already testified in detail about the details of their toxic relationship.
