Restrictions on visitors were imposed at the Waterford Hospital in St. John’s after a fire at the facility yesterday.
Eastern Health reported that the fire broke out in one of the hospital’s inpatient wards around 5 p.m.
There were no injuries.
Patients from the affected ward have been relocated to other parts of the hospital, and relatives have been notified.
At this point, people are asked not to visit the facility. Up-to-date information on the situation is expected later today.
