Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Rolando “Raleigh” Romero entered the ring at the Barclays Center in New York on Saturday with unbeaten records and dozens of knockouts between the two.
Davis, third in the ESPN lightweight rankings, was looking to defend his “regular” WBA title as Romero battled for a world title for the first time in his career.
Before the match, Raleigh did not shy away from expressing how he felt about Tank. Davis said this will be the last match of his long-term contract with Mayweather Promotions.
“Floyd did a great job with him,” Romero told ESPN. “Without Floyd, Jervonta Davis is nothing. He can still have his skills and all that, you know. But when it comes to marketing, it has no personality.

“He doesn’t do anything to help the sport of boxing,” he continued.
The tension between them was visible during their press conference before the match.
When they finally met in the ring on Saturday, they exchanged blows for six rounds in a back-and-forth affair.
In the end, Davis won by technical knockout.
