Sadio Mane is expected to leave Liverpool this summer, according to The Athletic.
The 30-year-old Manet has to inform the club of his desire to end his six-year period at Anfield just a day after Liverpool’s defeat in the final of the Champions League against Real Madrid.
The Senegalese national has only one year to fulfill his contract, so Liverpool will have to earn money this summer or risk losing the striker for free next year.
Bayern Munich are among Manet’s suitors, but he has yet to decide on his next club, as his focus was on the Champions League final.
There is no official offer from Bayern at this stage and Liverpool would like significantly more than 30 million euros for the fee, which was reported in Germany.
Manet, who joined Liverpool from Southampton for £ 34 million in June 2016, failed to prevent his team from falling after a 1-0 defeat in Paris on Saturday night.
The striker played 90 minutes in a tight final, which was separated by a shot by Vinicius Junior in the 59th minute.
He lifted six trophies during his highly successful career in Liverpool.
Manet won the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
His teammate Mohamed Salah has also expired next year, but he has already said he will not leave the club this summer.
Speaking before the Champions League final, Salah said of his future: “I will definitely stay next season.
“I am not focusing on the contract at the moment. It’s about the team. This is a really important week for us. I want to win the Champions League again.
“I want to see Hendo (Jordan Henderson) again with this trophy in his hands and then I hope he will give it to me!”
