A man was killed Tuesday in a collision between two vehicles outside Calgary

A man died on Tuesday when a motorcycle crashed into a school bus.

The incident happened around 4 pm, when the Calgary and STARS emergency teams responded to reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a school bus near Highway 567 and Country Road 270.

According to EMC, no one was injured in the school bus, but the driver of the motorcycle, an elderly man, was found dead on the spot.

Airdrie RCMP issued a statement after 5:30 p.m. that Highway 567 on Township Road 270 was closed. The RCMP is asking people to avoid the area for the next few hours.

STARS was redirected to a second accident, which also occurred around 4pm, near Carstairs on Highway 581 and Rural Route 13, where two vehicles crashed.

A man was transported to hospital in serious condition.
