Britain will send medium-range missiles to Ukraine

Ukraine is using several types of smaller, short-range unmanned aerial systems against Russian forces that invaded the country in late February. These include the AeroVironment RQ-20 Puma AE and the Turkish Bayraktar-TB2.

However, the Gray Eagle represents a leap in technology. It can fly for up to 30 hours, depending on its mission, and can collect vast amounts of data for intelligence purposes.

The Gray Eagles, the U.S. military version of the more widely known Predator drone, can also carry up to eight powerful Hellfire missiles.

The sale is significant because it sets up an advanced American reusable system capable of delivering multiple deep strikes on the battlefield against Russia for the first time.

Earlier, the United States and the United Kingdom provided Switchblade drones, also known as Kamikaze drones, because they explode on impact and cannot be reused. The West has also sent a huge number of spare parts for planes, not whole planes that are ready for combat.
