Call of Duty seems to be back on Steam with Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the direct sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare from 2019, is set to launch this October. Prior to its release, Infinity Ward and Activision announced on Thursday that the global unveiling of the game will take place on June 8 at 10 a.m. PDT.

This is not all; if a tweet from the official Steam Twitter account is any indication, the Windows PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 may also launch on the Valve platform. (The game will also be available through Activision Blizzard’s Battle.net, according to a teaser image on this website.)

While previous entries in the Call of Duty franchise were available for purchase on Steam, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 from 2018, the series became exclusive to Battle.net on PC.

Polygon asked Activision for comment and will update when the company responds.
