Tulsa, Oklahoma police say 5 dead, including shooter after hospital shooting

Tulsa, Oklahoma police said four people were killed, as well as a suspected gunman after an active shooting in which he committed suicide.

The Tulsa Police Department said officers responded to signals of an active shooter at Natalie’s medical building at around 5:50 p.m., authorities said. The suspect, who remains unidentified, was armed with a rifle and a pistol.

Police responded to the second floor of the building and found the victims and the shooter.

Police said no other threat was known at this time.

Natalie’s medical building is used primarily for sports medicine and orthopedic surgery.

The families have been instructed to reunite at the Memorial High School, police said. Authorities are urging people to avoid the area.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Steet responded to the shooting with a statement.

“What happened in Tulsa today is a senseless act of violence and hatred. Sarah and I pray for the families of the dead and wounded. I am grateful for the quick and courageous action of the Tulsa Police Department. and other first-aiders who did their best to control the terrible situation. “I have offered Mayor GT Bynum all the government resources that may be needed, and I ask all Oklahoma residents to come together to support the St. Francis Health System community and mourn those whose lives have been changed forever,” Stitt said.
