The launch of the PlayStation in June began with the official unveiling of Resident Evil 4’s long-running rumor.
Interestingly, the trailer opened with a specific release date: March 24, 2023 on PS5. Capcom also confirmed that the game will be released on PC and Xbox Series X / S on that date.
The shots seem to be performed on the magnificent RE Engine, which powers the latest Resident Evil games. In the shots, which have a definitely darker tone, we see the main character Leon S. Kennedy, as well as jokes of various enemies, Ada Wong and Ashley Graham.
In a PlayStation blog post, Capcom confirmed that the goal of the remake is to offer a “fresh” look at Resident Evil 4. This is done by rethinking the game’s plot, while preserving the essence of its direction, updating the graphics and updating the controls to a modern standard “, says the publisher. However, the general premise of the story – Leon travels to a secluded European village to save the president’s daughter – remains the same.
RE4 was originally released on the GameCube in 2005 and has since been ported to all modern platforms. The game is considered one of the greatest ever made, which makes fans eager to see what they would like to do with the treatment of the remake of Resident Evil 2. To this end, Capcom says that “many” of the team members who worked on the well-respected remake of RE2 for 2019 have been included in the remake of RE4.
On top of the RE4 trailer, Capcom revealed that last year’s Resident Evil Village is coming to PlayStation VR2. The release date of the next generation VR headphones has not yet been confirmed.
