DriveBC reports that a landslide between Tappen Beach Road and 65 Avenue NW closed Highway 1 on Friday night.
The closure lasts about 2.6 km and is located two kilometers east of Tappen to Salmon Arm.
A detour is available through Hwy 97B and Hwy 97.
A passenger in the area told Castanet that traffic was heavily supported by the closure.
DriveBC expects to release an update at 10 p.m.
