A woman is dead and police have detained a man after two cars crashed in Brampton.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Friday (June 3rd), police were called to the intersection of Chinguacousy Rd and Burt Dr in Brampton for crash signals.
Police said an elderly woman received life-threatening injuries in the collision and was later pronounced dead.
A video from the crash site, obtained from insauga.com, shows police tape and emergency vehicles blocking the intersection, where a gray sedan is visible with serious damage to the front.
You can also see a black sedan with severe damage to the front end and it seems to have stopped near a brick wall nearby.
Police say they have detained a man who was transported to a trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The intersection is closed to both north and south between Flowertown Rd. and Queen St. East, and police are asking drivers to avoid the area and find alternative routes if possible.
