COVID-19 Ontario: Hospitalizations fall to 419, the lowest level since December

Health officials say COVID-19 hospitalizations in Ontario dropped to 419 on Sunday, the lowest level in five months.

The last time hospitalization for the new coronavirus was so low was on December 26, when they reached 373.

Meanwhile, admissions to the intensive care unit increased slightly from 107 to 111.

It should be noted that not all hospitals report patient data over the weekend.

The Ministry of Health does not publish information on vaccination status or accidental hospitalizations.

Three additional deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported since yesterday, but all of these deaths have occurred in the last month.

The death toll from COVID-19 in Ontario is now 13,288.

With 6,998 tests performed overnight, the Ontario test was 7.1 percent, according to the Department of Health.

At least 710 new cases of the virus have been confirmed by these tests. Testing for COVID-19 in Ontario remains limited to selected high-risk groups, and the cases reported today should be counted.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,307,600 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the province, including 1,285,226 cured.
