A collision between an oversized load and the Cambie Road overpass in Richmond, British Columbia, caused significant traffic disruptions on Wednesday.
Photos from the scene show a semi-truck with what looks like a tank, tracked drilling equipment on the trailer that hit the overpass.

The drilling vehicle was knocked down by the truck’s trailer and in front of a pickup truck. It is not immediately clear whether the driver of the pickup truck was injured.

The Richmond RCMP said both the overpass and the southern lanes of Highway 99 in the area would be closed “for an unknown period of time while engineers assess the damage.”

DriveBC identified the affected area between Bridgeport Road and Cambie Road. Traffic north on Highway 99 was unaffected.
Drivers heading south were urged to take the № 4 Road or Shell Road exit outside ramps.
