An active transport corridor for Ethel and Casorso has been completed – Kelowna News

The Ethel-Casorso road is complete

Kelowna’s last active transport corridor from Ethel Street to Casorso Road has been completed and will soon be open to the public.

Partially funded by the province’s Active Transport Grant Program, British Columbia’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Rob Fleming will join Mayor Colin Basran and Okanagan College President Dr Neil Fassina to discuss the project and what it means. residents.

From the end of December 2021 to mid-January 2022, the people of Kelowna were encouraged by the city to give feedback on the conceptual design of Casorso Road between KLO Road and Barrera Road.

This new corridor closed the final gap in the existing north-south network by widening the connection between Ethel and Casorso, merging the city center and the Capri-Landmark area with Pandosi and the Lower Mission.

This new trail will give cyclists and pedestrians better access to important destinations in Kelowna such as Okanagan College, Casorso Elementary School and Pandosy Urban Center.
