Buffalo Bills, Sabers co-owner Kim Pegula, undergoing treatment for undiscovered health problems

Buffalo Bills and Sabers co-owner Kim Pegula is undergoing treatment for undiscovered health problems.

The Pegula family issued a statement Tuesday saying: “Kim is receiving medical treatment as a result of some unexpected health problems. We are very grateful for the progress it has made over the last few days. It has an exceptional team of medical experts in it. Please keep Kim and our family in your prayers and respect our need for privacy. “

Pegula, 53, is president and CEO of Pegula Sports and Entertainment. She oversees the business operations of the Bills and Sabers and is the first female president of both the NFL and NHL teams.

Kim and Terry Pegula, 71, bought Bills in 2014 after becoming owners of Sabers in 2011.

Kim Pegula is a public advocate for diversity in the NFL and NHL, and she is a member of the NFL Workplace Diversity Committee. Pegula also served on the Super Bowl Advisory Committee and major NFL events, the Business Initiatives Committee and the NFL Foundation Committee.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Pegula was adopted at the age of five by a Canadian family based in Fairport, New York, east of Rochester. She later attended Houghton College, living all her early life in western New York.

The Pegulas also own the Buffalo Bandits and Rochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League and Rochester Americans of the AHL. An agreement was reached this year for a new $ 1.4 billion stadium that will keep Bills in Orchard Park, New York, for the foreseeable future with a 30-year lease.

Together with Commissioner Roger Goodell, the Peguli family visited the site of the racist shooting that killed 10 people at a supermarket in East Buffalo last month.

Peguli has five children: Jessica, Kelly, Matthew, Michael and Laura.

The family did not provide further details about Kim Pegula’s condition and none of the teams provided further comments.
