Nothing, which is the new startup maker that Carl Pay, one of the celebrities of OnePlus, is working on, is preparing to announce its first smartphone. It’s called the Phone for Nothing (1). Which is a lot of jokes, but now we see our first look at this new smartphone. From none other than Carl Pay.
There’s a picture of Pei talking on the phone, and it’s pretty easy to see that this is the new phone for nothing (1). The photo makes the phone look like a mix of iPhone X and iPhone 12. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s not exactly something completely new, as Nothing claims it will be.
This really looks like a late-stage prototype, so things may change before the announcement. But there are dual cameras in the left corner, reminiscent of the iPhone X from a few years ago. You can also see the outline of the wireless charging coil, as well as some mounting area in the upper right corner. There are also flat sides like the iPhone 12 and 13.
Nothing keeps annoying your smartphone
In the last few days, nothing has appeared on Twitter to annoy your smartphone, much like what OnePlus did in the past. Which should come as no surprise, as Pei was a co-founder of OnePlus before leaving a few years ago.
The company will hold an event in July, which will probably give us a little more detail about Nothing Phone (1). It may be interesting, depending on what they have to show us. It is said that this is the launch, but given how bad the supply chain is at the moment, this may be a message with the phone coming later.
You can still register to receive notifications about their upcoming event here. The event is scheduled to take place on July 12 at 16:00 BST (this is 11:00 ET in the USA).
