A tornado clock has been released for parts of eastern Ontario with possible severe storms on Thursday afternoon and early evening.
Environment Canada released the watch around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
“Conditions are favorable for the development of strong thunderstorms, which can cause tornadoes,” the meteorological agency said.
“Strong winds, heavy hail and torrential rain are also possible.”

The Tornado watches the Ottawa region and extends to other areas to the west, south and east, including Renfrew, Bancroft, Tweed, Prescott and Russell and Kemptville.
Environment Canada said a tornado was possible, along with gusts of 90 to 110 km / h and hail the size of a nickel ping pong ball.

“Thunderstorms are expected to develop early this afternoon with the potential for rapid intensification as they advance east,” the council said.
“A tornado or two will be possible this afternoon, before the threat turns to mostly wind. This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. “
The Meteorological Agency said those under surveillance should be prepared for difficult weather and cover up if threatening weather approaches.
