A huge drone fire is raging in Devon

Firefighters from eight stations in Devon are battling a fire that was reported to have spread to 1,000 square meters. The drama took place on a cape near Kingswear.

Teams from Torquay, Brixham, Doulish, Totnes, Danes Castle, Greenbank and Middlemoor were involved in extinguishing the fire, and the incident was first reported shortly after 3 a.m. this Saturday, June 18.

Upon arrival, the crews confirmed that about 300 square meters of wood had been set on fire. But 20 minutes later, the fire spread to about 1,000 square meters.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. However, since then, the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service have issued a warning that forest fires are extremely high risk. A post on their Twitter page said: “Fires can only start with a spark or a gust of wind that blows a flame for a barbecue.

“Extinguishing forest fires can take many days to affect our wildlife, ecosystems and local communities.
