Full House star Jody Sweetin pushed by LAPD during election protest

Actress Jody Sweetin was pushed to the ground by police in Los Angeles to protest the election in the city on Saturday, a video shows.

The 40-year-old Full House star was speaking into a megaphone on the side of a highway during a protest against a recent Supreme Court ruling when a number of officials pushed her to the ground, according to footage posted on Instagram.

“What the hell is wrong with you guys?” A protester could be heard saying to officers in response.

Sweetin got up, put on his baseball cap again, and quickly joined in the chanting of “No Justice, No Peace,” the video shows.

The actress, who played Stephanie Tanner in the ABC comedy, was trying to take a group of peaceful protesters away from the highway when she was thrown to the ground, according to freelance photojournalist Michael Ade, who shot the footage.

Another video posted by Ade a few minutes earlier showed police pushing other protesters with batons.

Los Angeles police said they were investigating the use of force by police officers shown in the videos.

“Los Angeles police know of a video of a woman being pushed to the ground by officers who prevented the group from entering on foot and overtaking Highway 101,” the LAPD said in a statement to People. “The force used will be assessed against the LAPD’s policy and procedure.

The department said it would continue to respect the right of citizens to protest while protecting life and property.

Thousands took to the streets across the country to protest SCOTUS ‘decision on Friday, which overturned Rowe W. Wade and overturned nearly 50 years of federal abortion protection.

Decision 6 to 3 leaves it up to individual states to pass laws for or against abortion. Several states have already banned abortions altogether, and several more are expected to do so in the coming days.
