A boy from Georgia died in a hot car while driving Wendy after his grandmother forgot about him in the back seat.

Kendrick Engram Jr., 3, was found by his uncle at the fast food restaurant on Wynnton Road Sunday in Columbus after being left in the car for about 2 hours and 45 minutes, according to the Muscogee County Coroner.

He died of suffocation after being left in the car in the heat; the highest temperature for the day is 96F, the lowest 90F, the National Weather Service said in its three-day history forecast.

Kendrick spent most of Sunday with relatives, including his three sisters and grandmother, Muscoggi County Coroner Buddy Brian told local news. They returned home around 5:30 p.m.

“Everyone came into the house except the little boy,” Brian said. “Grandma went into the bedroom, the other children went into the kitchen to eat. Then the kids would come in and out, play … just like the kids do.

Kendrick Engram Jr., three, was found in the third row of a Nissan SUV Sunday around 8:30 p.m. when his uncle went to order food at Wendy’s Restaurant in Columbus, Georgia.

The boy’s uncle had taken his mother’s car to drive 15 minutes to reach Wendy’s on Wynnton Road.

It wasn’t until about three hours later, at about 8:15 p.m., that Grandma noticed that Kendrick was missing when she “called the children and asked about the number of heads, but no one knew where Kendrick was.”

Kendrick was found around 8:30 p.m. after his uncle – who had the vehicle the boy was riding in earlier on Sunday – was called by his mother to see if the child was with him.

When he was at Wendy’s, his grandmother called to see if Kendrick was with him, according to Brian. The boy’s uncle initially denied the child’s presence, but soon found him in the third row of a Nissan jeep.

The young child was pronounced dead at about 9 p.m. tonight.

“Just be aware.” Just be aware. If you’re an adult, be responsible, “Brian said. “The children are innocent. They can’t help themselves and when you have a child, it shifts the responsibility on you.

As of Tuesday, it remains unclear whether the family will be blamed for the death of the three-year-old.

DailyMail.com contacted Columbus Police Department in Georgia for comment.

Kendrick is the seventh child in the United States to die after being left in a hot car this year, and the second in Georgia, according to Safe Kids, who added that more than 100 children died from unattended hot cars in recent years. two years.
