The drowning of actress Mary Mara could be the result of a serious head injury … according to her representative.
Mary’s spokeswoman Craig Dorfman told TMZ … investigators have informed her family of new evidence … that she may have died after slipping and hitting her head after swimming in Cape Vincent.
She is said to have dived into the St. Lawrence River on Sunday morning – one of her favorite places to swim … and after she came out of the water, investigators believe she slipped and hit her head, causing her to falls into the water and drowns.
Their reasoning … when they restored her body, she had abrasions on her face.
So far, there is no working theory as to which object injured her head … but they believe that the only logical explanation is that she came into contact with an object that either knocked her unconscious or weakened her.
As reported, investigators rejected the idea of a rough game. Dorfman says he and Mary’s family believe drugs or alcohol did not play a role in her death.
Mary’s family praised the support they have received over the past two days.
