A driver has died in a two-car crash in Ottawa’s west end

A 65-year-old man has died in a two-car crash on Canada Day in Ottawa’s west end.

Emergency crews responded to a collision between a pickup truck and an SUV at the intersection of Merivale Road and Baseline Road just before 11 a.m. Friday.

Police said the driver of the Dodge Journey was pronounced dead at a hospital. The identity of the victim has not been released.

Paramedics treated four other people with minor injuries.

The Ottawa Police Collision Investigation Unit is looking to speak with witnesses to the crash.
