The Vancouver Canucks have agreed to terms with forward Brock Boeser on a three-year contract worth $6.65 million per season, the team announced Friday. Boeser, 25, a pending restricted free agent, just completed a three-year deal worth $5.875 million in cap hit per season.
Boeser had 23 goals in 71 games last season, averaging 18:36 of ice time per game. In Boeser’s first full season (2017-18), he set career highs with 29 goals and 55 points in 62 games. Boeser, the 23rd overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, finished second in Calder Trophy voting to the Islanders’ Matthew Barzal this season.
In 324 career games, Boeser scored 121 goals and scored 256 points.
“We are very pleased to have been able to reach a new deal for Brock,” Canucks GM Patrick Alvin said in a statement. “He is a very talented player and has been an effective goalscorer throughout his career. We look forward to seeing his game progress in the years to come. Now that he’s under contract for three seasons, Brock can shift his entire focus to his performance on the ice.”
The Canucks went 40-30-12 in 2021-22, finishing with 92 points.
