Tottenham ‘set up another medical’ as Conte’s staff go into overtime | soccer | sport

While it is said that there is no rest for the wicked, it seems that this also applies to Tottenham’s club doctors. Spurs staff will be called into action again this weekend to oversee Clement Lenglet’s scheduled medical as Antonio Conte continues his seismic squad shake-up this summer.

The Barcelona centre-back is expected to be the latest arrival in the white half of north London as his upcoming season-long loan move nears its end. According to Mundo Deportivo, the French defender has permission from the Spanish club to finish this weekend.

The Spanish publication also claim that the 27-year-old has already traveled to London to complete his medical in the coming days. Lenglet is expected to be unveiled as a Spurs player early next week if all goes well.

Tottenham’s medical staff have been the busiest of the 20 Premier League clubs this summer, having already vetted four new signings. Spurs snapped up free transfers Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic at the start of the summer and have since added Yves Bissuma after agreeing a £25m deal with Brighton, and Richarlison, who joined from Everton in a £60m deal on Friday.
