Henry Cejudo takes on Alexander Volkanovski after UFC 276

LAS VEGAS – Henry Cejudo is still interested in a fight with Alexander Volkanovski and he made sure to let him know.

The former two-division UFC champion addressed Volkanovski following his successful title defense against Max Holloway at Saturday’s UFC 276 at T-Mobile in Las Vegas. Cejudo, who wants to return to the Octagon, laid out his case for a featherweight title fight with Volkanovski.

“It’s all competition, man,” Cejudo said in a video filmed by the UFC. “If an Olympic medal and two UFC belts aren’t enough, I just want to compete, Alexander. As a competitor, I respect the bullshit from you. Congrats number 1. I just want to know how far I can take it. I’m here. I’m here.”

Cejudo suddenly retired in May 2020 after defending his bantamweight belt against Dominick Cruz. He took two years off and recently re-entered the United States Anti-Doping Agency’s (USADA) drug testing panel in April in hopes of returning to the Octagon.

Cejudo is hoping to get a shot at the 145-pound belt in hopes of becoming the UFC’s first three-division champion. The 35-year-old previously held the bantamweight and flyweight titles.
