Witnesses said over a thousand people were outside the terminal.

Nigina Hampton said she was dropping off a family member when someone left their luggage in a cart nearby.

“The police come right over and check it’s your luggage, I say no,” Hampton said.

In seconds, people were ushered out of the terminal.

“Once the police came with dogs, everything,” Hampton said.

Khusrav Mahmudov was on a flight scheduled to land around the same time the terminal was evacuated.

“They didn’t say anything, but I noticed that we were going around for about fifteen to twenty minutes,” said Mahmudov.

The bomb squad and detectives investigated and got the all clear shortly after.

The terminal operated as usual, but some passengers were shaken by the experience.

“I’m scared, of course everyone is,” said one passenger. “Thank God, nothing happened.”

Delta Airlines said there were some minor delays due to security concerns, but no major issues.READ ALSO | Flight delays ease amid chaotic July 4th weekend travel
