A MAN has died after being hit by a car in a hit-and-run.
Jack Brandon, 22, from Hassocks, died after being hit by a vehicle on the B2112 New Road, between Ditchling and Clayton, in the early hours of Sunday.
The vehicle did not stop.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained staff.

Police are appealing for witnesses, with officers particularly interested in people who may have seen a white vehicle with headlight damage and a missing near (passenger) mirror, as well as any repairers who may have been asked to repair this damage after yesterday .
Anyone who saw what happened or captured relevant dashcam footage from the area at the time is urged to email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting Operation Kempston.
