Oppo Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro now have India release date! The successor to Oppo Reno 7 and Reno 7 Pro will go public this month with several updates. Oppo says the Reno 8 series will be announced at a launch event on July 18 at 6pm where the Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro will be revealed. The Reno 8 series was already launched in China a few weeks ago and India again looks like it will only get two models. However, there is also good news.
The design reveal shows that Oppo is bringing the Reno 8 Pro and Reno 8 Pro+ to India as the Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro respectively. This means we get to see the best of Oppo’s cameras and hardware. This time, both models will get iPhone 12-inspired flat edges instead of just one model. Another leak also suggests the possible prices that Oppo could ask for these phones.
The launch date of the Oppo Reno 8 series has been revealed
The leaked Oppo Reno 8 prices suggest that the base variant of the phone could start at Rs. 30,000 and go up to Rs. 33000. On the other hand, the Reno 8 Pro can start at Rs. 45000 or higher. Note that the Pro version is the fully loaded variant this time. The Oppo Reno 8 will come in Shimmer Black and Shimmer Gold colors, while the Reno 8 Pro will come in Glazed Black and Glazed Green.
The Reno 8 Pro in China, which could be the Reno 8 in India, could be based on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, which could mark the debut of the chipset in India. The Reno 8 Pro model in India may use the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chip, which is currently limited to Realme and OnePlus smartphones. The Reno 8 Pro could get a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Reno 8 could have a smaller 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Both models will use a MariSlicon NPU chip that promises better image and video processing.
