U.S. stock futures edged lower in choppy trade as investors weighed the possibility of the U.S. lifting tariffs on China against concerns about economic growth.

S&P 500 futures fell 0.7 percent on Tuesday to start the trading week after U.S. stock and bond markets were closed for the Independence Day holiday. Dow Jones Industrial Average contracts lost 0.7 percent, and tech-focused Nasdaq-100 futures fell 0.9 percent.
