Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro vs Asus ROG Phone 6: What’s the difference?

Asus has just launched two super-powerful gaming phones in its ROG Phone 6 series, and in this article we’ll show you how to tell them apart.

If you’re an avid mobile gamer, then chances are you’ve followed Asus’ recent product announcement with keen interest.

The new ROG Phone series is among the first to run on Qualcomm’s formidable Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. With both phones boasting phenomenal screen and battery performance, what really separates them?

Colors

Usually, a higher-end device is loaded with all the extra features, but in this case, there’s actually a surprising twist. While the ROG Phone 6 comes in both Phantom Black (shown above) and Storm White, the ROG Phone 6 Pro only comes in the latter of those hues.

RAM

Both devices have plenty of RAM, so you don’t have to break a sweat when it comes to multitasking. However, it is different if you choose the Pro version; it has a whopping 18GB of RAM, whereas if you’re using the stock ROG Phone 6, you’ll still have a whopping 16GB to play with.

Back cover

There’s another slight difference in appearance aside from the available colors, as you can see in the photo above, which shows the two models side by side.

While the Pro edition (left) has a ROG Vision color PMOLED display that can call up different graphics on the back of the phone, the standard ROG Phone has a simple ROG logo lit up in RGB.

Price

For many of us, when considering purchasing a product, the key difference starts and ends with price. And as far as these two are concerned, it is indeed a very significant difference.

The Asus ROG Phone 6 retails for £899/€999, while the Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro retails for £1,099/€1,299.

Early judgment

We’ve only tested the ROG Phone 6 Pro and haven’t had the chance to get our hands on the standard ROG Phone 6 yet, so it’s too late to jump to judgment choosing one over the other. However, it certainly looks like you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck if you go for the ROG Phone 6, while the ROG Phone 6 Pro carries a significant premium without the sheer quality advantage you might have expected.
